4th of July Parade

"Bridge to a Better Future" is the slogan for this year's Independence Day parade in the City of Fairfax. We are doing our part for a better future by featuring outstanding Democrats from the past and the future.

Mark Warner and Gerry Connolly
...will be featured in our parade entourage, as well as marchers from their campaigns, the  County Dems, and us, of course. The parade float this year will highlight the great Democrats of the past, while the Democrats out in front of the float represent our future. Come to the Committee meeting on Thursday for a seek peek at the float, and help us put on the finishing touches.

Please join us this Friday at 9:30 AM at the parade line-up location in the Massey Complex parking lot behind Wachovia Bank. Directions are available here. Please enter the line-up area via Main Street and Judicial Drive. Turn left on Page Avenue and follow the road to the large parking lot. See the parade line-up area and parade route maps.

"Open Your Eyes" Video Presentation

Wednesday, July 16th at 7:30 PM at Fairfax City Regional Library, we will be watching "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised". This short video covers the attempted Venezuelan coup from inside the presidential palace. And when the people take back control and restore the popular leader, the filmmakers are still on hand with cameras rolling. Further details are available here.

Dems Breakfast

Saturday, July 19th at 9:00 AM at Old Country Buffet, join us for our monthly informal breakfast gathering. This is a good time to catch-up on what's happening locally in our Congressional, Senate, and Presidential campaigns.

Sponsorships

Please consider joining in and helping us finance the many things we do as an engaged and thriving Committee. Even if you don't always have the time to volunteer, you can still lend a helping hand. We have sponsorships available.

Neighbor Calling Program

We know that there are voters in your neighborhood critical to Democratic victory. And we know that you're the best person to talk to them. That's why we need you. By signing up to be a Neighborhood Volunteer you will have the power to contact 25 voters in your neighborhood. Your efforts are going to make the difference and will help us take back the White House in 2008.

From Among Our Members

Benjamin Pratt brought this post to my attention. The launch of a unique online experiment www.OurValues.org where University of Michigan researcher Dr. Wayne Baker will be asking people about their close-to-the-heart values -- and, of course, he will be asking about the meaning of America itself in this holiday week.
