Candidates and Delegates

Once again I am writing this note to you after a significant Presidential Primary/Caucus day. And once again, it is too close to call between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
That doesn't mean we have to wait to decide who our delegates will be. The Virginia numbers are in and as you know from my previous message, we have a total of 8 delegates and 4 alternates. That means 12 of us can participate as Delegates at both our 11th Congressional District Convention and the VA State Party convention. From among those convention delegates, our national delegates will be selected.
How Can I Be A Delegate?
Join us this Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at our Committee meeting, and you will have all your questions answered. I will be presenting an overview of the delegate selection process and we will have the filing forms available. Also, I am pleased to announce that Mr. George Burke, 11th Congressional District Committee Chair will be joining us. So if I can't answer your question, I'm sure he will be able to.
Congressional Candidates
As I mentioned previously, Thursday, March 6th promises to be an exciting evening in the life of our Committee as all four of our Congressional candidates will be present. Each of them will give a brief overview of their campaigns, how folks can join in, and any upcoming campaign events. We will also have a short intermission to give you a chance to pass on your contact information and find out how you can get involved with the candidate's campaign of your choosing.
