Opportunities

Opportunities
Be As Involved As You Want To Be

We have many opportunities right here locally to join in and spread our progressive message.  One of the messages that I wanted to express in being elected as your Chair, is that folks should be empowered to participate in our party building process when and where they can.  The best way I know how to keep us engaged is to ensure that we are all informed about what events are happening, and to stay connected with campaigns so we know where they want and need us to join in.

So along those lines, here are some opportunities for you to consider...

Mark Warner for Senate Campaign

The campaign is seeking help making phone calls to supporters, stuffing envelopes, data entry, etc.  The campaign is in the early phases though it is getting really organized very quickly.  This is a tremendous opportunity to get in on the ground floor as Mike Henry was just named campaign manager.  The Warner campaign has also secured the services of Joe Abbey, who we all know and love as the former campaign manager for Chap Petersen's successful campaign.

DPVA Neighbors Organizing the Vote

The Neighbors Organizing the Vote (NOTV) program asks committed people like you to do two things:

1. Agree to contact friends and neighbors in your immediate area three times before Election 2008, and talk to them about our Democratic candidates and the issues that matter most in your community.

2. Recruit two more Democrats to sign up to be Neighborhood Leaders just like you and help us build a critical local network where neighbors are talking to neighbors about the issues that are important in YOUR community.

To make it even easier, we'll give you some simple online tools.  With these tools, you'll be able to use your own computer to create personalized campaign literature with pictures and talking points that are most relevant to your neighbors.

CFDC Neighbor-to-Neighbor Calling

As I have mentioned in previously, we are currently conducting a pilot project for outreach calling on a neighborhood basis.  If you are interested in participating in the pilot, please reply or contact John Carey.  John is leading the charge in organizing this program for us.
