On Being A Delegate
How Can I Be A Delegate?
According to the latest CBS
News Election Results, Barack Obama has 1,353 delegates and Hillary Clinton
has 1,258. But as we all know, it's not
over yet. That's why we will dive into
the delegate selection process for our 11th Congressional District
Convention, DPVA state convention, and the national convention at our next Committee
meeting on Thursday, March 6th. If you've ever wondered how you can be part of
the process, mark your calendar now and plan to join in.
Here in the City, the
breakdown for State Delegates to the 11th CDDC and DPVA conventions,
as a result of the Presidential Preference Primary, are a total of 8 delegates
and 4 alternates.
Delegates Alternates
Barack Obama 5 2
Hillary Clinton 3 2
As you know, we will have our unassembled caucus on Saturday, April 19th, 12:00 - 4:00 PM. More details will follow at the Committee meeting.
Who's Running for Congress?
It is an exciting time for us Democrats in the 11th Congressional District as we are fortunate enough to have not 1, not 2, not 3, -- but 4 candidates running for our seat in Congress. At our upcoming Committee meeting you will have the opportunity to meet all four of them and find out more about their campaigns. There are many things you can do to be involved right here in the City, and we want you to join in as much as you want to.
So if all of that isn't enough to get you to circle March 6th on your calendar and join in at your Committee meeting, then perhaps the clowns we are also hiring to make balloon animals for us that night will entice you!
I hope to see you there!Joseph Harmon

P.S. Just kidding about the clowns! But feel free to bring balloons if you want. (HA, HA)
